Companionship care
Companionship care for older people.
Companionship care is not medical care. It is company. A familiar face who turns up, sits down, and gives someone their time. For many older people that is the part of the week they look forward to most.
We visit older people across Manchester, Liverpool, Merseyside and Chester. Every arrangement starts with a free assessment, and wherever possible the same companion returns each time so a real friendship has a chance to grow.
What a visit actually looks like
- Conversation over tea
- The simple things. Catching up, sharing news, looking through old photographs together.
- Walks and fresh air
- A stroll around the garden, the park or the local shops, always at their own pace.
- Outings and appointments
- A trip to the café, the shops, a club or the GP, with someone friendly alongside.
- Hobbies and interests
- Music, reading, crafts, gardening, baking. Whatever they have always loved doing.
- A hand around the home
- Light tidying, a meal prepared, a letter read. Practical help, offered respectfully.
- Staying connected
- Help with a video call to family, or a card written to an old friend.

Why it matters
Loneliness wears people down quietly. Regular company gives structure to the week, a reason to get dressed and go out, and someone who notices when things change. Families tell us the difference shows up in small ways first: more talking, more appetite, more laughing.
We are not here to replace family. We are here to complement it, for the hours when family cannot always be there.
